The HSV Senator, a 4-door luxury sports vehicle manufactured by Holden Special Vehicles of Australia boasts of comfort, speed and luxury. Manufactured in 1992, the Holden only manufactured 30 units. Of the 30 units, 26 were to be sold in Australia, 1 to be used as a press car and 3 to be sold in New Zealand.

Among the features that the HSV Senator boasts of are it’s rear-wheel drive architecture, an enhanced 6.0 liter V8 engine and the switchable Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) suspension. The MRC’s function when switched on is a smooth ride like similar to floating on a very smooth road, a sensation that a driver hardly experiences no matter how smooth the road is. At another push of a button, the smooth ride ends and in its place a feel of driving in a race track – hard and fast.

In terms of performance, the HSV Senator’s 300kW Callaway enhanced V8 engine enables it to accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 5.3 seconds and reach 400 meters in 13.9 seconds. The brakes for this car is an anti-lock, cross-drilled Premium Brake System.

It’s a pity that the HSV Senator is not sold in other countries like the United States. With a car like this, it’s sure to be a hit in the US market or other countries for that matter.
